"Go Green By All Means & Heal Thy Planet"
Thanksgiving 2012 at The R.O.C volunteers at the Richmond Outreach Center cook and serve a hot Thanksgiving meal to over 1,000 inner-city youth. This abundant feast that includes turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and honey wheat rolls is just one of many ways The ROC shows these children that someone truly cares and believes in them.
Every year for the last 11 years the Richmond Outreach Center also known as The Roc has held a Christmas party for the children of Richmond for the ages of 5-12. We pick them up by the bus load, 50+ bus loads in fact, from some of the most impoverished neighborhoods in the city. And each year the numbers have increased and we are glad of it. Because each year we are able to share the Love of Jesus and the real reason for the season. And then we send each one of them home with a nice Christmas present.
This year, 2012 we are giving gifts in the $20 range. We wish it could be more seeing how for some of the children it will be the only gift they receive all year. But it's not the size of the gift that make the greatest impact on them, its the Love they receive from Jesus through us. We are in the final planning stages of opening Frontline Ministry. It will help feed, shelter and clothe those in need in the seven cities of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Green Energy All Natural Organic Foods, All Natural Organic Cleaning Products and All Natural Organic Gardening for our Urban Gardening project are all being factored into Outreach's plans.
